Kappa Kappa Psi North Central District

Achievement Awards

Achievement Award

Eligibility:

Chapters who have submitted the Chapter Summary Report to National Headquarters on time, and

Chapters who have submitted the Fall Activity Report to National Headquarters on time, and

Chapters who have submitted their chapter fees and dues to National Headquarters on time, and

Governor(s) may allow exceptions on a case-by-case basis, after soliciting a recommendation from the district council, and shall have the final decision in all chapters awarded. No application is necessary for consideration for this award.

Superior Achievement Award

Eligibility:

Chapter must be recognized as an Achievement Award Recipient for the 2017-2018 year

Chapter must complete a One-on-One with the District Council and Governor(s) at a Block Meeting.

Governor(s) may allow exceptions on a case-by-case basis, after soliciting a recommendation from the district council, and shall have the final decision in all chapters awarded. No application is necessary for consideration for this award.

Governor's Cup Award

This award honors the most outstanding chapter(s) in the North Central District, and is awarded to chapters that best exemplify the ideals of our national organization as expressed in the Preamble of our Constitution. To win this award, each chapter must submit a bid for consideration.

Bid Eligibility:

Chapters must qualify for the Superior Achievement Award

Chapters will be notified of their eligibility and be given a presentation packet within one week after the 2017 Leadership Conference.

Submit the questionnaire found in the presentation packet by the magic date, Tuesday, February 20th, 2018 to [email protected]

The Governor(s) will select finalists from this list of chapters.

Selected finalist requirements:

Present to a panel consisting of: NCD Governors, district council, and other notable guests from National Headquarters and the National Council, per the Governor’s discretion. The presentation can consist of a maximum of three members and should take no more than five minutes.

Must submit the following in person, directly before a presentation at District Convention:

Cover Sheet with Name of Chapter and School (must be first)

Questionnaire and Answers

Fact Sheet

Proper Documentation as directed by the presentation packet

Letter of Recommendation from the Chapter Sponsor

Letter of Recommendation from the Director of Bands

Any other pertinent information

Each Chapter must take part in the Poster Session at Convention

The Governor(s) may amend any part of the Governor’s Cup qualifications and criteria at any time.

Outstanding Awards

J. Lee Burke Outstanding Service to the District Award

This award honors outstanding service to Kappa Kappa Psi by recognizing outstanding members who have contributed their time and talents to the North Central District.

Eligibility:

ANY currently active member of a chapter in the North Central District who will be graduating in this calendar year. This award is not limited to District Officers

Eligible if the application is received by the magic date, Tuesday, February 20th, 2018

To Apply:

A chapter must fill out the form located at this link. The chapter need not be the home chapter of the nominee.

The chapter must include a separate list of the member’s fraternal activities and district service

Letters of Recommendation are not required, but recommended.

District officers are not excluded from this award, nor are they automatically placed in nomination and, therefore, must go through the above-mentioned process. The Governors shall have final say on the recipient(s) of the award, but may solicit recommendations from the district council or a committee at District Convention. Multiple awards may be presented.

Charles W. Hass Memorial Award

The Charles W. Hass Memorial Award is granted by the Kappa Kappa Psi North Central District Council in recognition of outstanding contributions to the Fraternity by an alumnus or alumna of the Fraternity.

Eligibility:

Brothers with five years of alumni, life, or honorary status

Eligible if the application is received by the magic date, Tuesday, February 20th, 2018

To Apply:

A Chapter must fill out the Form located at this link. The chapter need not be the home chapter of the nominee.

The chapter must include a 500 maximum word essay explaining the individual’s accomplishments and contributions to the Fraternity, including time as an active member, if appropriate

Letters of Recommendation are not required, but recommended.

Chapter Travel Awards

Chapter Distance Award

The recipient of this award is determined by a specific calculation: by multiplying the percent of each chapter’s active membership present at District Convention by the miles travelled to the convention site. Numbers will be calculated at convention based on data from the Chapter Report Forms. The host chapter is not eligible for this award. No application is necessary for consideration for this award.

Chapter Participation Award

The Chapter Participation Award is intended to reward the chapter with the largest percentage of their active membership in attendance at District Convention. Numbers will be calculated at convention based on data from the Chapter Report Forms. The host chapter is not eligible for this award. No application is necessary for consideration for this award.

Golden Gas Can Award

The purpose of the Golden Gas Can Award is to advance and garner participation in traveling throughout the district to other chapters. All active and conditional Brothers for the 2017-2018 year are eligible to count for this award. Events beginning the day after the 2017 District Convention are eligible for this award. The final event that will be counted is the 2017 District Convention. The chapter with the most collective miles at the end of the year will receive the Golden Gas Can Trophy.

To submit for the Golden Gas Can Award:

Chapters must fill out this form for EACH EVENT that you would like to count.

Summer FUNction 2017 will automatically be counted for your chapters based on the attendance list

2017 MER will be automatically counted based on the attendance list

2018 District Convention will be automatically counted based on the registration information

Chapters must provide a picture of the attendees with a member of the host chapter (or member of the district council for other district events)
